GeForce RTX 30 is the latest series of graphics processing units developed by NVIDIA. It is a next-gen Ampere-based graphics card which would possibly be released by September this year. A lot of people have been saying different things concerning the GeForce RTX series and what they think it will look like. Today we are going to write a pre-release review of all we know about it including the price of the GeForce RTX 30 series and every other information that we know.

The latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 20 series was the first GPU that was designed to handle real-time Ray Tracing using Turing Architecture. That is, simulating how images appear in real life to make them appear as if they are real. They can be used to produce reflection, refraction, shadow, depth, etc. It makes all the objects appear real. The GeForce RTX 30 series will use an Ampere Architecture instead of the Turin Architecture for its set to release high-end GPU. Multiple sources have confirmed the couple of models that will first be released are the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. The specifications of these next-gen Ampere-based NVIDIA models suggest that they are made for high-end professionals and the gaming industry.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 specifications and features

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 would most likely follow the current NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 of the GeForce RTX 20 series. This new GPU will have a total of 60 SMs and each will have 64 CUDA cores. It is going to have a total of 3840 CUDA cores when you compare this to its predecessor in the GeForce RTX 20 series with the CUDA core count set at 3072. The Ampere architecture has evolved into 7nm which means that the clock speed of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will be very high.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 might have two variants with the one in the high-end having up to 20GB of GDDR6 RAM memory and also benefit from the 320-bit bus interface. The other variant may be just 10GB to keep the price affordable. And even with this size of memory, it is still going to be better than its predecessor. They are assumed to come with a 16 Gbps module which will make it have an impressive 640 GB/ s which is higher than the RTX 2080 with 496 GB/s.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 specifications and features

The other GPU in the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series that has been rumored to be released is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. The predecessor for this GPU will be the TU106 based GeForce RTX 2070. It is going to have the same CUDA core count as the RTX 2080 but it would have a total of 48 streaming multiprocessor units. It is possible that they will also release two variants with different memory configurations. The two variants of this GPU based on memory could come in 8 GB and 16 Gb. This will depend on the GDDR6 RAM module that is available.

We don’t know what the price of the GeForce RTX 30 series will be if it will be released by September. But it should not be lesser than the current price of the GeForce RTX 20 series. NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti sells for $1,199 and the NVIDIA RTX 2080 super sells for $699.
